Brands
The history of the business can be traced to 1972 when Sam Meineke established Meineke in Texas and Tony Martino founded Maaco in Delaware – businesses that later became key to Driven’ s service offering. Both Meineke and Maaco continued to grow and in 2006, Driven Brands was formed as a parent company for several automotive aftermarket brands, with Maaco integrated into the group in 2008.
With a relentless focus on innovation and growth, a series of acquisitions occurred in the years that followed, positioning Driven as the go-to partner for automotive aftermarket services. In 2015, the acquisitions of 1-800-Radiator & A / C, as well as CARSTAR and CARSTAR Canada, introduced Driven Brands to the collision repair market. One year later, the acquisition of Take 5 Oil Change accelerated the expansion of Driven’ s quick lube footprint, and this business remains a key pillar of Driven’ s portfolio today.
Driven strengthened its paint, collision, and glass capabilities through the acquisition
of ABRA Auto Body Repair of America and Fix Auto USA in 2019, alongside acquiring Automotive Training Institute( ATI) and more than 100 quick lube companies. Aside from the US, Driven also bolstered its footprint in Canada with the acquisition of Uniban Canada. The company entered the car wash industry in 2020 following the acquisition of International Car Wash Group, which added locations in the US, and IMO Car Wash, which deepened its international footprint in Australia, the UK, and Europe.
Driven held its initial public offering( IPO), trading on NASDAQ under the ticker DRVN, in 2021, and by 2022, the company’ s US footprint included 350 car wash sites, 750 Take 5 Oil Change locations, and 1000 collision repair facilities, making it the second-largest in the US for the auto glass repair, replacement, and calibration category. Driven continues to provide a wide range of automotive services, including preventative and routine maintenance, comprehensive auto body work, collision repair, and cosmetic services.
