being implemented across the business . “ We ’ ve invested in a proof test machine that is very specific to our market and a brand new 600-ton press . We are also looking at content building , which will be great for our online presence . We ’ d like to further develop our website and ensure that our e-commerce offering is in its best shape .”
When asked what it was like to see his company evolve over the years , Kevin highlights that he has found it very exciting . “ We ’ re at the forefront of what we do , and we ’ re considered a market leader , and I have absolutely loved the journey . I love problem-solving . My brain really enjoys making order out of chaos , and data is continuous chaos . So , I like recognizing patterns , turning patterns into solutions , and resolving issues .”
Future growth
One of the ways Kevin ’ s analytical skills truly came to the fore was during the pandemic , when supply chains across the globe experienced unprecedented disruptions . “ It was about communicating and keeping everyone in the loop . I felt that we were set up to benefit from some of those challenges ; we have a great sized facility , and we were constantly building to scale . I ’ ve got a fantastic team here , and all our suppliers did a tremendous job to pull through that period .
“ We want to be in control of our capability . We also want partners who recognize that keeping stock is important as well . This then feeds back to the significance of data and information ; the more we can get from our systems , the more we can give to our suppliers , and the better our whole network flows .”
With a steady network in-hand , Kevin and his team are ready for the next five years . In his words , he feels the company is like a ‘ rocket with the ignition lit and ready to go .’ His expectations are set for the business to become at least five times greater than it currently is . “ I ’ ve always believed that the company had great potential , so going forward , I ’ d like us to grow into that potential . Once the change to e-commerce is complete , we just need to let it do its thing , and I believe great success will come from that ,” Kevin concludes . ■
