_________________________________________________________________________________ The Barcode Warehouse
The year was 1999 , just months shy of the millennium . Almost in anticipation of a new age , Trent Valley Label Company officially rebranded as The Barcode Warehouse .
Going into Y2K , the company would begin to supply technology interacting with barcode labels for a growing list of customers . Such technology took the form of printers and scanners , as well as mobile computers ( alternatively known as PDAs or handheld computers ).
By adding a plethora of other company assets , including a robust e-commerce site , customers from across the UK could now easily access The Barcode Warehouse ’ s best-in-class solutions and cutting-edge kit from the comfort of their own facilities . It was all part of a new vision for the company – heavily intoned by the rebrand – to become the country ’ s leading barcode technology solutions provider . By 2014 , the company had employed its 200th team member , attesting to its staggering growth .
Though operations principally focused on the transport and logistics sector in the early days , senior management knew it was essential for the future of the company to branch out .
As a team , they deliberated and identified new areas to expand into . Opportunities , senior management figured , were abound in retail , warehousing , and manufacturing , just to name a few .
